Description
Castillo Real comes from Bodegas del Rosario in DO Bullas, Murcia. This medium-bodied wine has intense aromas of black and red fruits with notes of spice and chicory typical of DO Bullas Monastrell. Fresh black fruits are also evident on the palate which has smooth tannins and good acidity. The finish is long, smooth and spicy. This wine is perfect with grilled meats and pasta dishes.
Winemaking
The winemaker at Bodegas del Rosario works with Norrel Robertson MW to retain maximum fresh fruit flavours in Castillo Real. The grapes are grown in high alitutude vineyards at 600-800m. 2006 was an excellent year where good fruit and pure flavours were obtained from a healthy harvest. Grapes were hand picked. Fermentation was in stainless steel tanks. This wine is not oak aged.
