Description
Beautiful, deeply coloured rose with vibrant youthful notes. An explosion of aromas greet the nose with pronounced raspberry and strawberry integrated with subtle notes of cinnamon, vanilla and cream. This is truly a full bodied and impressive rose with fruit characters as on the nose. It has crisp, well-balanced acidity, a soft creamy mouthfeel and a long finish. Fantastic on its own, well-chilled for a balmy summer evening and a great match for varied tapas, seafoods and spicy foods.
Winemaking
Norrel works with the winemaking team at Bodegas Santo Cristo to create this exciting Campo de Borja pink. The vineyards are located near Las Lomas in Ainzon on free-draining chalk and clay soils on the foothill slopes of Mt. Moncayo. Vines are aged up to 20 years and each year they have to struggle for moisture given the minimal rainfall experienced in the area. There are significant variations in day and night time temperatures, helping to keep a steady, long ripening period so the grapes build up intensity. The Garnacha grapes are picked at optimum ripeness then undego cool (16-20C) fermentation in steel and epoxy tanks for 18-20 days. During fermentation the wine comes in limited contact with oak to add a creamy complexity.
