Full of character, bright fruit and subtle hints of spice this classic oak-matured Spanish red comes from the north eastern region of Catalunya. The grapes are carefully selected from vineyards located near the Mediterranean coast.
A deep ruby red with purple hues. Typical bright cherry aromas of the Garnacha and Syrah varietals combined, with subtle hints of toasted coconut and spice from oak ageing. Finishes dry and smooth. A medium-bodied wine that is very easy to enjoy.
Food Match: A great accompaniment to grilled meats, tasty vegetarian dishes cheese and pasta.
VITICULTURE / VINIFICATION
The grapes were part hand-picked in mid-October, 2015, from mature vines – 25 years old on average – that grow on mainly clay soils with some limestone and loose stones. 2015 was an excellent year, although a bit short in volume. Following a hot July, August and September were a little cooler with some rain, but grapes ripened perfectly with no rot nor disease. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks for between 12-15 days and this Crianza wine spends 6 months in American oak barrels before bottling
